Folk Embroidery

The skein of yarn I needed to finish my cardigan arrived and I’ve resumed work. I aim to finish the cardigan over this Easter break.

In between doing cross stitch projects. In particular I’ve started a month-long SAL with Modern Folk Embroidery. It’s a Quaker-style pattern (pictured). I’ve done a lot of cross stitch projects but I’ve never done this style and I have to admit I’m loving it. I’ve finished Day 3 with no problem. I had the Aida in my stash and I purchased about six skeins of the dark red DMC from Lincraft at a cost of only $4.50. I wont need six skeins but I’m planning on doing one of the Jane Austen patterns on the MFE website in the same floss and will probably even purchase the pattern this weekend.

Sometimes I feel guilty about having several WIPs on the go but from what I can tell it’s more common than only having one. I know if I didn’t, I’d get tired of a project part of the way through and would probably never pick it up again. When I started resuming my cardigan, I felt quite refreshed and eager to get going. So it was good to have a break and do something else for a while.
