Jane Austen
I started the Jane Austen cross stitch pattern (photo from Modern Folk Embroidery).
In conjunction with that, I’ve been working on finishing my cardigan (almost done!) and the Quaker SAL. I jumped ahead by a few days on the SAL as I know I have a busy week ahead. Even though I know 140-odd cross stitches a day isn’t too onerous on a normal day, I know I’m going to be flat out at work this week and it wouldn’t surprise me if I can’t manage even that.
Who would have thought I’d get back into cross stitch? I’d forgotten how very therapeutic it is. And I have to say in terms of cost, far less expensive than crochet. I guess crochet will always be my “go to” but it is interesting that I can be just as absorbed in cross stitch if given the opportunity. I suppose though if Lincraft didn’t have its closing down sale, it wouldn’t have happened as I wouldn’t have purchased a cheap kit.
